We can get insight into the world in to different ways. The most common way in our western culture is to collect analytic knowledge about the parts. This knowledge of details we then use to shape an image of the whole with the use of models and theories. A rather impossible task. Less known in the western culture is the procedure to consider the world and everything in it as a whole. In the latter case we observe the working of dynamic principles and the relationships between the parts of which the whole is composed. This gives us a fundamental insight into the dynamic operation of the universe. It offers a frame within which the different aspects of ourselves and of the world fall into place like the pieces of a puzzle.

Everything in the universe works in harmony with these principles. We human beings find ourselves in the special position that we have our free will. Because of this we have the freedom to choose to act contrary to or in harmony with these laws. This choice is hard to make though, if we don’t know those principles. When we act in line with the universal laws, than things go easier. Besides, our doing will be more in correspondence with how we really are and will be more in harmony with the greater whole. This choice is hard to make though, if we don’t know those principles. In the book The Whole Elephant Marja de Vries describes the operation of these universal principles based on common perceptions of ancient wisdom traditions ánd cutting-edge scientific discoveries that are in line with those insights. Especially for Great-Place-to-Live she explains in short how the universal laws can be applied for networking and creative alliances.

Networking
The Law of Oneness states that everything and everyone in the universe is connected with everything else. This means that we in fact form an immeasurable network. Organisations that are composed of people and things that are separated from eachother, are not in line with this law. Networks that are based an mutual meaningful connections do are in line though.

The Law of Rhythm states that everything is changing all the time. A network or organisation that gradually becomes rigid, will be less and less in line with the Law of Rhythm. A network that keeps moving and changing will be in line with this law.

The Law of Vibration states that everything that exists is energy. Energy follows the path of least resistance. When energy can flow freely there will be a maximum result with a minimum of effort. When the free flow of energy is blocked, then there will be resistance and difficulty. For example, the wishes of our ego can block the free flow of energy.

The Law of Surrender states that when our ego makes way for our Higher Self, everything in our life can happen with the least amount of effort and almost of its own accord. When we choose to follow the wish of our soul, we bring ourselves in harmony with the operation of the universal laws. We allow them to work to our advantage.

The Law of Attraction states that we attract to ourselves that what we transmit. Fot that reason integrity is the key to take optimally advantage of the universal laws in our life and networks. Sincere interests, attention, joy, appreciation and integrity contribute to a network in which energy can flow freely. In networks we can apply consciously the Law of Attraction and the Law of Attention, which states that we attract to ourselves more strongly that upon which we focus our attention. So we can consciously look for the best in people, organisations and the world around us. When we focus our attention not on problems, but instead on that what we do want, things will develop in that direction. Whe we see the ebst in eachother, share dreams and passions with eachother and work toward a world that is in line with our essence and in harmony with the greater whole, relationships will flower and energy will flow.

Synchronicity
The Law of Cause and Effect staes that we create with our consciousness, intentions, thoughts and feelings in the non-physical world of cause, the visible world of effect. For that reason consciousness and insight are the starting points for everything we undertake. Change and transformation start with a change or broadening of our awareness. When we see that the Law of Cause and Effect works as a multidimensional feedbacksystem, we call it synchronicity. We recognize the phyiscal effects of what we have created (un)consciously with our intentions. We experience the effect as the support, answer or solution we looked for.
When our awareness becomes wider, we are more often aware of this synchronicity. When we are on the alert inwardly to be aware whether something feels 'here and now exactly right', we can get into the flow, in which the next step appeares as a question. The answer turns up as soon as we, guided by our intuition, follow that which feels right at that moment. So, we can go to a networkmeeting and 'know' with whom we have to make a connection to find the information or people we are looking for. The people who are relevant for us at that moment will 'light up' or talk to us before we have noticed them.

A the edge of chaos
Alse the Law of Dynamic balance is important. According to this law all living sytems are dynamic systems. They are composed of two active, dynamic, seemingly opposite, but complementary aspects, what work together in partnership. Therefore, undisturbed dynamic systems tend to move permanently into the direction of a dynamic balance. For example we find such a dynamic balance between stability and flexability, and also between order and chaos. Self-organisering living systems, like ourselves or dynamic networks, work best when there is a balance between rigidity and chaos. Exactly at the unstable point of balance between rigid order and complete chaos exists the optimal situation for new possibilities and creativity. In the chaos theory this optimal balance is known as 'the edge of chaos'. Exactly at this point it is possible to create the biggest change with the least amount of effort.
The Law of Dynamic Balance states that creation happens when the two complemenary aspects 'idea' and 'from' work together in partmership. When people with clear ideas and active imagination connect with eachother within networks or creative alliances, miraculous things and creative solutions can emerge at that 'edge of chaos'.

New worldview
Insight into the operation of the universal laws reveals a new worldview. The shift from the old worldview to the new worldview can be summarized as follows:

From Old

to New

from fragmentation to wholeness
from alienation to relationship
from conformism to auhenticity
from effort to joy
from discussion to dialogue
from things to processes
from coincidence to choices
from chaos to ordening
from head to heart
from fear to love
from we are victims of situations and limited in our capacities to we co-create our own reality and in principle we are capable to do anything
